It is not membership of a venue. A permanent home for grassroots music in Burton is our ambition. We're working to build the business case — with funders, the council, and the community. Every Founding Member is evidence that the demand is real.

The ambition

Burton hasn't had a dedicated grassroots music venue for a long time.

East Staffordshire Borough Council is exploring the business case for one. Our ambition is to be part of making it happen — if the demand is there.

The Space Between is how we find out, together, whether it is. Every event we run, every person who joins the community, every voice added here builds the picture funders and decision-makers need to see.

We're not there yet. But we're building the case — and you're part of it.

The simplest thing is just to show up. One event a month, free or from £7.50, all across Burton. Join the community and hear about every one first.

Access

  • Step-free access

    All main venues — Burton Library, Brewhouse Arts Centre, Stapenhill Gardens, and Burton Market Place — have step-free entry.

  • Quiet spaces

    A calm, low-stimulus space is available at most indoor events. Ask a steward when you arrive.

  • BSL interpretation

    British Sign Language interpretation is available at any event — just give us a few days' notice so we can arrange it.

  • Access fund

    If cost is a barrier to attending a ticketed event, contact us. We have a small fund and will do what we can.

  • Tickets for Good

    Free and subsidised tickets are available through Tickets for Good for people facing financial hardship.
